Romania's highway patrol is currently testing the Seat Leon Cupra as a potential squad car. The police will use the vehicle on loan into November before making a final decision on its usability.

The Seat Leon Cupra has a 240 horsepower 2.0-liter TSI engine, which takes the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds. This car goes from a dead stop to the one kilometer mark in 26.4 seconds, topping out at 247 km/h.

But is it enough to catch speed cheats racing to the beach for a day of sun? To compare, the Jaguar XF Diesel S being considered for the same purpose in the U.K. gets to 100 km/h a half-second quicker, with a top speed of about 250 km/h.

Executives at Porsche Romania, the official importer for the SEAT brand, thinks the car will do just fine. "We are very happy to make our contribution to reduce accidents on the highway," said Seat Brand Manager Bogdan Militaru. "Our clients are people that appreciate sportiness and dynamism but we do not encourage braking the rules and trafic. It's our way of declaring that we encourage driving sporty but not outside the law."

Sper ca astia prin highway patrol inteleg politia rutiera, ca la noi highway nu prea exista biggrin.gif
