judecand dupa succesul Albea in Europa de Est entuziasmul pare un pic fortat.

sunr curios si de Fox dar asta pare sa fie mai mic (nivel subcompacta fata de Logan care desi e pe platforma de subcompact poate fi considerat compact dupa dimensiuni)...

In europa vor sa concureze la categoria sub-9000E, nu sub-compacte, indiferent cat sunt ca dimensiuni biggrin.gif Noul Twingo de la renault va fi mai scump decat actualul, cam la nivelul unui clio. Iar intervalul (de pret, nu de dimensiuni) ramas liber in gama lor vor sa-l acopere cu Logan. Fiat a avut succes cu Panda care a ramas ieftin, actualul twingo in mod surprinzator inca se vinde bine, Kia picanto si ea merge bine, acum toata lumea vrea sa aiba masini la 8000E. Din motivul asta vor sa aduca VW foxul, mai ales dupa rateul cu Lupo/Arosa.

OUCH!!!

NEW YORK (Reuters) -- Standard & Poor's cut General Motors' and Ford Motor Co.'s debt ratings to junk status today in a move that will reduce the automakers' avenues for raising funds as they struggle with global competition and rising health care costs.
The cuts could cause the automakers' borrowing costs to rise.
Investors have dreaded a GM cut to junk for fear it may cause turmoil in both the high-grade and junk markets. Investment funds ineligible to hold junk bonds could be forced to sell billions of dollars of GM debt.
Standard & Poor's cut GM's long-term credit ratings by two notches to "BB," the second highest junk rating. The outlook on the new rating is negative.
GM has about $300 billion of outstanding long-term debt including secured notes.
The rating agency cut Ford's credit ratings one notch to "BB+," the highest junk rating.

Last Update: 1:49 PM ET June 1, 2005 E-mail it | Print | Alert | Reprint | SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Ford Motor Co. and DaimlerChrysler on Wednesday turned in lower May U.S. sales, kicking off what many observers believe will be disappointing monthly results for struggling automakers.


"May was not nearly as robust in the auto sales sector as it was in March and April," said Ford sales analyst George Pipas in a conference call following the results.

Analysts polled by Thomson First Call expect to see a seasonally adjusted annual rate of sales, on average, of 16.6 million vehicles, down from 17.7 million a year ago.

For Ford (F: news, chart, profile) , truck demand amid rising gas prices continued to weigh on the overall results as the company sold 13% fewer of its heavy-metal lineup to 182,283 vehicles. Sales of Ford's top-selling F-Series trucks fell 5.5% to 74.494 units last month.

Car sales slipped 5% to 101,711, with the Mustang providing a welcome bright spot -- up 47% to 19,721, the model's highest total in 25 years.

"Mustang received straight A's again," said Steve Lyons, Ford's head of U.S. sales. "The F-Series truck and Ford Five Hundred sedan also had pretty good report cards, but Mustang was the valedictorian in May's graduating class."

As for the automaker's closely watched production target, Ford said it plans to build 905,000 cars and trucks in the second quarter, unchanged from previous targets. But Ford cut its third-quarter production 2% to 17,000 vehicles.

Ford shares held steady at $10 in midday trading.

Separately, DaimlerChrysler (DCX: news, chart, profile) , pegged by Wall Street to post a gain, said sales fell 2% to 232,386 vehicles in May.

The German-American carmaker's Chrysler Group, with brands such as Jeep and Dodge, sold 214,575 cars and trucks, 3% fewer than last year. The luxury Mercedes-Benz lineup delivered 17,811 vehicles.

The 2006 Dodge Charger, which is tagged to be the next in a line of new launch successes after the Chrysler 300 and the Dodge Magnum, should help boost sales with shipments to dealers at the end of May.

DaimlerChrysler's stock added 33 cents to $40.62.

Elsewhere, Porsche Cars North America (DE:693773: news, chart, profile) posted a 25% surge in May U.S. sales to 3,291 vehicles, combining with Canada sales to notch the best month for North America in Porsche's history. Boxster sales more than doubled to 982 cars, while the SUV Cayenne lineup posted a slight decline to 1,268 vehicles.

Honda sales decline

American Honda (HMC: news, chart, profile) posted a 7.6% decline in May sales to 122,169 vehicles with car sales down 19.1% and truck sales up 14.3%. Stronger truck results were buoyed by record Pilot sales, which rose 17.9% to 10,107 units. The luxury Acura division sold 9.1% more cars and trucks with a total of 18,685, boosted by demand for the RL sports sedan.

U.S.-listed shares of Honda gained 1.4% to $25.06.

Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. (TM: news, chart, profile) reported a 7.8% rise in May U.S. auto sales to 201,493 vehicles, with demand for the all-new 2005 Avalon sedan and the hybrid Prius helping Toyota brand car sales gain 14.6% to 103,630.

The Tundra pickup helped keep truck sales in positive territory with total Toyota trucks up slightly at 85,222 vehicles. Toyota's luxury Lexus division posted a 9.6% increase to 26,455 cars and trucks.

"The pendulum of consumer preference is swinging in favor of smaller SUVs, crossovers, hybrids and passenger cars," said Jim Press, TMS executive vice president and COO.

Toyota shares added 1% to $72.42.

Nissan Motors (NSANY: news, chart, profile) turned in a 15.5% jump in North America sales last month to 93,519 vehicles compared with 87,713 a year ago. The company said its Altima, Murano, Armada and Titan models all posted record May sales, with growth in car sales slightly eclipsing truck sales.

The Nissan Division sold 82,440 vehicles, up 16.6% from May 2004, while its luxury Infiniti Division racked up 11,079 sales in the U.S. and Canada, a 7.7% increase.

Nissan's stock added 32 cents, or 1.6%, to $19.98.

Subaru of America turned in a 1% rise to 14,475 vehicles. Legacy sedan sales surged 61% to 1,845 while Forester sales dipped 26% to 3,514. The Legacy wagon remained the Japanese carmaker's top seller, with 5,304 vehicles sold, up 2% from a year ago.

cred ca Steyr a fost un concern care s-a spart, probabil o parte a fost luata de firma canadiana Magna International (producatoare de componente auto). firma de armament ca si o Steyr Motors par a fi alte firme.
