La SEMA 2006 in Las Vegas, Subaru a prezentat un Forester STi - un debut neasteptat pe continentul american. Si se pare ca se gindesc sa aduca Legacy STi si in Statele Unite. Si tot la SEMA, Mitsubishi a adus un Outlander (crossover SUV) tuned by EVO. Poate inseamna ca Mitsu e din nou interesata in masini performante ? (intr-un secol trecut aveau Eclipse AWD, 3000GT AWD si 4dr GALANT VR-4 awd. Acum ele ori nu mai exista, ori sint family sedan cu fwd) (nota: Legacy 2.5 GT are motorul de STi, insa are turbo si intercooler mai mici si ii lipsesc citeva alte prostioare mai putin cunoscute si categoric un engine tune pe masura. Doresc insa sa confirm ideea ca orice "antrepreneur" cu vreo 3000 de dolari poate sa isi faca propriul Legacy STi pentru ca motoarele la Subaru sint ca jocurile de LEGO. Nu sint multe lucuri de care ai nevoie: intake manifold, intercooler si turbo si citeva tuburi de cauciuc.). -------------------- Schumi drive it like you stole it !

Citez: The most important Mitsubishi at SEMA was undoubtedly the Evolander Concept. The name is half Evo, half Outlander, and that's exactly what this is--the Evolander is an Outlander SUV with performance elements and design cues inspired by the hot Lancer Evo compact. The Outlander's 3.0-liter V-6 gets an 80-horsepower boost to 300 with the help of a supercharger that produces 6 psi of boost. Power is sent to all four wheels through Mitsubishi's six-speed manu-matic, which uses ultra-cool magnesium-alloy paddle shifters. Passengers playing with those shifter paddles are treated to gorgeous Recaro sport bucket seats. The Evolander rides on twenty-inch OZ wheels that house oversized, cross-drilled rotors and Brembo six-piston calipers up front. Taking a cue from the Lancer Evo, the front of the Evolander is filled with enormous cooling and brake ducts, and a vented hood. More aggressive side sills, fender vents, a rear diffuser, and a Ralliart rear spoiler combine with fender flares to put more S in this SUV's looks. Just like the Galant Ralliart that premiered two years ago at SEMA, we're expecting--and looking forward to--a production version of this SUV. -------------------- The world contains a lot of awfully fast drivers.
