first thing first, got to give that little subi much respect. that thing had some big balls- excuse my language. it was very clean and i'm pretty sure heavily modded. anyway, on to the story. it was about 2:30 in the morning here in chicago, and i-94/i-90 was practically empty. i first noticed the subi (it wasn't a STI for sure) as soon as i entered the highway. it passed me doing about 100. since it looked modded, i hit the m button and started to follow it. i guess he saw me and hit the gas. here i was thinking i'm going to embarrass him, so i drop a few gears down and hit it. Wait a minute, what's going on here? i can't seem to pull on him. we're staying even. i had to drop behind him to get by some traffic, but i knew that there were a few sweeping turns coming up. at this point, i'm thinking to myself, sure this thing has some power, but lets see how it does on some turns. at this point, were both cruising at about 125-130 and i notice he's starting to slow down a little. i guess he was getting ready for the turn. i go to the outside and just cut through the turn, right to the inside, and come flying out at about 150 (once again, there were pratically no cars since it was 2:30 in the morning, so i was not being rectless, except maybe to my self and my passengers) i continue to take all the turns along the highway at the same paste. for those that know this section of the highway in chicago, it has a few large sweeping turns that you could do this on starting from toughy entrace on i-94 to the division exit on i-90. suprisingly, the subi didn't fall back to much. i had to take it past 150 mph just to create some distance. i did gain some ground on the turns, but not enough to call it a slatter. i was just shocked that it could keep up with the ///M in its sweet spot at such high speeds. i couldn't really watch him at these speeds, but my friends that were in the car tell me that i would only start to pull on him after like 130mph. i always thought that these cars (turbo'ed 4 cylinders) run out of juice at higher speed, but i guess he had enought power to overcome that. considering the fact that the m5 is a beast at triple digit speed, the subi had to have a lot of work done to it to keep up. if the owner of that subi happens to come across this thread, please post your reply. i'd love to hear what you have done to your car.
