Cel mai mare producator japonez de autoturisme, Toyota, va retrage pentru verificare circa 1,41 milioane de autovehicule, cea mai ampla actiune de acest gen a grupului, ca urmare a unor probleme aparute la sistemul de aprindere a farurilor, transmite Reuters. Numarul de autoturisme retrase il depaseste pe cel din 1999, cand Toyota a chemat pentru verificare 797.707 vehicule si ocupa prima pozitie in topul actiunilor de profil al firmelor japoneze.


Deci se intimpla si la case mai mari.

Nu ca Reno care au avut 4 accidente grave raportate datorita electronicii cu bube, facuta cu zgarcenie, plus un camion datorita unor cauze mecanice, si nu au retras nimic de pe piata, ba mai mult au dat in judecata pe cei care s-au plans.

principalul sau furnizor de componente, Delphi ( nr.2 global dupa Bosch), a declarat falimentul operatiunilor sale in USA ( care sunt si majoritatea in portofoliul firmei). dat fiind ca Delphi s-a desprins din GM in 1998 si GM are inca obligatii financiare referitoare la planurile de pensii si de sanatate ale Delphi asta ar insemna alte 5-6mld. $ pe are GM va trebui sa le plateasca ca urmare a acestor obligatii contractuale cu Delphi...

cei mai pesimisti observatori economici chiar prevad ca GM va fi impins la faliment in urmatorii 2 ani...

colac peste pupaza vanzarile GM in septembrie in USA au fost de 355k vehicule fata de 455k in aceeasi luna a anului trecut, o scadere de 23%. cel mai mult au suferit desigur vanzarile de SUV si pick-up trucks care au scazut de la 284k la 190k ( scadere de peste 1/3). cresterea pretului carburantilor i-a prins descoperiti. situatia este si mai grava decat cifrele o spun pentru ca peste 90% din profiturile auto ale GM provin din acest segmente (pick-up si SUV), afacerea cu turisme fiind mult mai putin profitabila.

total pe primele 9 luni ale 2005 GM a vandut 3,539mil. vehicule fata de 3,584mil in aceeasi perioada a 2004... ceea ce nu e rau deloc dar timp de 3 luni in vara GM a oferit reduceri de 4-5000$ pe masina.

pentru a-si redresa bugetul GM a anuntat ca va vinde o parte semnificativa din actiunile sale la GMAC ( una dintre cele mai mare banci comerciale americane) care e cea mai profitabila parte a imperiului GM. de fapt in ultimii 2-3 ani majoritatea profiturilor firmei au venit din activitatea acestei divizii non-auto.

Pe piata americana Toyota e in crestere cu 11% pe anul in curs, Honda cu 5% iar Nissan cu 12%.

VW si DCX anunta proiecte comune:

1) Chrysler va ajuta VW sa introduca un monovolum mare (minivan) in USA. Chrysler este liderul in acest segment pe plan american si mondial desi Toyota si Honda sunt in ascensiune si in acest segment.

2) VW va coopera cu Dodge ( marca a diviziei Chrysler) pentru productia unui subcompact ( Polo fiind in obiectiv). se poate intrevedea ca si Smart va renunta la cooperarea cu Mitsubishi ( Colt vs. Forfour).

3) deja vehiculele comerciale usoare Mercedes Sprinter si VW LG sunt proiectate in comun.

4) VW va furniza 120.000 motoare diesel anual catre DCX ( nu s-a anuntat insa care si pt. ce modele DCX)

Ma gandeam,poti gasi clasamente de vanzari mai detaliate. Gen in 2004 un breadown al vanzarilor Acura sa zicem pe modele: cate 1.7 EL,cate RSX, cate TSX, TL si RL?

M-ar mai interesa un astfel de breakdown si la celelalte marci de lux (lexus, bmw, infiniti, audi, mb,jag)


Cat despre ce se intampla cu GM, era de asteptat cu preturile benzinei. EI se bazeaza mult prea mult pe pick-up uri si SUV-uri pt profit si au ignorat clasa compacta si subcompacta pana acum. Acum au produse competitive la ambele clasedar nu stiu daca nu e prea tarziu.

Torrance, Calif. 11/01/2005 -- For the fifth consecutive month, total Honda and Acura sales broke records in October, increasing 4.2 percent over last year to 110,895 units, American Honda announced today. Year-to-date sales of Honda and Acura vehicles increased by 6.2 percent to 1,223,812, continuing a record-setting pace and putting the company in line for a 12th straight year of sales increases.

Honda Division also broke records for the fifth consecutive month, with strong sales of the revolutionary Ridgeline pickup and the newly redesigned Civic. Ridgeline posted its best month ever in October, with a record 4,974 units, while Civic continued to make gains, with sales increasing 14 percent over last October.

Increasing consumer awareness of Honda's innovative Ridgeline pickup contributed to its best-ever sales month, while the redesigned 2006 Civic Sedan and Coupe models' combination of exciting styling and thrifty fuel economy resulted in strong consumer interest.

"Strong sales of the Ridgeline and Civic demonstrate Honda's flexibility in a complex marketplace," said Richard Colliver, executive vice president of automobile sales. "The Ridgeline's combination of rugged utility and innovative features, such as the In-Bed Trunk, are clearly a hit with consumers, while record fuel prices make the Civic's excellent 40 miles-per-gallon economy an easy choice."

The Honda Division's year-to-date sales grew 5.7 percent to 1,046,705 units, with Odyssey, Pilot and CR-V all showing year-to-date increases.

Acura Division posted record October sales of the TSX sports sedan and RL performance luxury sedan. TSX sales increased to 2,742, a 52.3 percent increase from last year for a fifth consecutive month of record sales. The RL continued its sales climb to 1,550 units, breaking the old October record of 1,491 units set in 1996, and up 22.9 percent from last year. Year-to-date Acura sales are up 9.3 percent to 177,107.

Depinde cum numaram: VAG per total are 13.71%, (mai multe decat RENO) dar pe componente cel mai bine stau SKODA-6.65% si VW 5.11%. Celelalte 3 marci fac 1.95%...

Ce m-a mai surprins insa este: Hyunday - 1.82% (cam cat AUDI +SEAT), Toyota - 1.56%, NIssan 0.83%

de Hyundai-Kia vom mai auzi fara indoiala ( in special in Estul Europei) odata cu terminarea noii uzine Hyundai din Slovacia si se aude ca si Kia vrea sa construiasca o alta uzina in Polonia ori Cehia. asta le va permite sa evite taxele vamale si sa vina cu niste preturi care ii vor pune in dificultate pe ceilalti producatori. deja in Rusia Hyundai este marca straina nr.1 ca volum de vanzari.

Octombrie a fost o luna proasta pt. producatorii auto pe ambele maluri ale Atlanticului:

In October, Ford and GM together accounted for 39.4 percent of the 1.2 million vehicles sold. One year ago, the pair held a 45.6 percent share of the market for the month.

Through 10 months of this year, Ford and GM held 45.2 percent of the 14.3 million sales. For the same period in 2004, the two automakers accounted for 47.4 percent of the 14.1 million sales.

Total U.S. sales for the Toyota, Lexus and Scion brands grew 1.3 percent in October to 173,086 units. The increase came from cars, particularly the Toyota Avalon and Prius, Scion tC and Lexus GS.

The launch of the redesigned Honda Civic bolstered American Honda Motor Co., which was up 0.4 percent in October. Honda said it was the fifth consecutive month that the Honda and Acura brands broke sales records.

Sales of the Civic :clapping: climbed 9.8 percent for the month, which helped offset small declines in American Honda's truck sales. For the year to date, American Honda sales are up 5.4 percent to 1.2 million units. Daimler-Chrysler (DCX) a anuntat azi ca a vandut tot pachetul sau de 12.42% din actiunile la Mitsubishi Motors pentru aprox. 600 milioane $. Cumparatorul este grupul financiar american Goldman-Sachs care se pare ca va revinde actiunile catre alti investitori. In 2004 DCX detinea 37% din actiunile Mitsubishi. De atunci datorita faptului ca DCX a declinat sa sprijine financiar compania japoneza si Mitsubishi a emis de atunci noi actiuni astfel incat cota detinuta de DCX a diminuat pana la 12.42%.

Mitsubishi a anuntat ca va avea pierderi financiare si pe anul financiar in curs desi mai mici decat estimat initial. In prezent actionarul principal la Mitsubishi Motors este compania sora Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.

NAGOYA, Japan -- Toyota Motor Corp. forecast on Tuesday it would increase output by 10 percent next year to a record 9.06 million vehicles, a level that could see the Japanese group overtake General Motors as the world's top carmaker.

A switch at the top could come just three years after the maker of the Camry sedan unseated Ford Motor Co. for the No. 2 spot in 2003 as it raced to add capacity in every corner of the world to meet red-hot demand.

In contrast, GM and Ford are to close plants in North America as they face shrinking sales and their worst financial crises in years, dogged by soaring labor-related and financing costs.

GM does not provide sales or production forecasts on an annual basis. But some industry watchers said the current trend pointed to an inevitable tumble to second place for the U.S. giant, for the first time in more than 70 years.

"Toyota will probably be the largest producer in the world at the end of 2006," said Richard Hilgert, auto analyst at Fitch Ratings, citing GM's sinking sales of large SUVs in the increasingly fuel-conscious U.S. market.

Others said that if not next year, the milestone would be reached in 2007.

David Healy, an auto analyst at Burnham Securities, forecast GM's global production would inch up to 9.15 million units next year from an estimated 9.08 million this year.

In keeping with Toyota's sense of modesty, President Katsuaki Watanabe said he was not fixated on taking the crown, repeating the company mantra that it would continue to build "the world's best cars at the fastest and most price-competitive rates".

"We don't want to be focused on whether we're the number-one seller in the world," Watanabe told a news conference in the central Japanese city of Nagoya.

"There are still lots of problems we need to fix to do our job," he added, citing increased localized production and quality improvements as examples.

JAPANESE CHARGE

Toyota's success has been mirrored largely by its domestic rivals, Nissan Motor Co. and Honda Motor Co., which are also winning U.S. market share from GM and Ford.

Honda, Japan's third-biggest automaker, earlier forecast a near double digit percentage increase in its global car sales next year to a record as it rolls out the entry-level Fit compact car in the key U.S. market.

It estimated its global car sales would grow 5 percent this year to 3.35 million units.

Continuing its charge in the world's leading car market, Toyota said it expected to grow its U.S. sales by 9.8 percent to 2.46 million vehicles in 2006, when it would begin making the Tundra pickup truck at a new plant in San Antonio, Texas.

In China, it forecast a roughly 60 percent jump to around 280,000-290,000 units.

At home, it expects parent-only sales to grow 3 percent to 1.78 million vehicles for a 44 percent share, with contributions from the Lexus LS sedan, the luxury line's flagship model.

While an imminent shuffle at the top has been the buzz in the industry for months, Toyota has long dwarfed its rivals in almost every other measure.

At a staggering $177 billion, its market value -- a measure of how much the market believes the company is worth -- is bigger than that of the next three combined. GM and Ford are nowhere near the head of that list, ranking 10th and 13th, each with a market value of less a tenth of Toyota's.

Toyota is also the biggest money maker, with analysts predicting net profit of 1.245 trillion yen ($10.7 billion) for the year to March 2006.

Meanwhile, GM has lost nearly $4 billion so far this year and Ford succumbed to a loss in the latest quarter as both relied heavily on discounts and other profit-eroding incentives to sell vehicles.

With its robust cash flow and stable long-term prospects, Toyota commands the highest possible triple-A rating from Moody's, a credit rating agency. GM and Ford are both deep in junk status.

Sales at both automakers fell in 2005. Chevrolet outsold Ford in cars. Chevy sold 899,116 cars in 2005, compared with 742,423 cars sold by Ford. That was a difference of 156,693 units.

But Ford, while it sold more trucks than Chevrolet in 2005, saw a bigger drop in truck sales from 2004. Ford sold 1,891,618 trucks in 2005, 189,932 units less than it sold in 2004. Chevrolet sold 1,752,009 trucks in 2005, 87,120 units less than 2004. In 2005, Ford sold 139,609 more trucks than Chevrolet.

Oricum este gindita si echipata pentru conditiile specifice pietei nord americane.

diferentele mari de gabarit sunt principalul motiv pentru care subcompactele sunt atat de putin populare. dar pretul benzinei devine un argument puternic.

Cam era si timpul... sa speram ca va fi de bun augur, productivitatea va creste, si atunci poate vor scadea fie preturile, fie numarul de defectiuni, fie amandoua....

New Jetta sedan up 47.9 percent and total Passat sales up 47.8 percent

Also of note, the redesigned New Beetle continues its strong showing with sales up 13.3 percent.

VW a avut o luna ianuarie f. buna si in Europa. situatia pe ultimul an ramane pe ansamblu problematica desi sunt semne ca exista o imbunatatire.

Vestile bune:

1) VW este prima marca in Europa detronand in sfarsit Renault, liderul de piata in ultimii 3-4 ani. 1.519mil vehicule pt. VW fata de 1.42mil pt. Renault.

2) VW Golf se mentine pe primul loc in topul celor mai populare modele europene cu 469200buc rezistand unui atac viguros din partea Opel/Vauxhall Astra care a ocupat locul 2 cu 453000buc. Golf a fost insa in scadere cu 15% fata de 2004 in timp ce Astra a crescut cu aproape 25%.

Vestile proaste:

1) in USA VW of America ( marcile Audi si VW) au inregistrat o scadere de 8% fata de 2004 pana la 311000 vehicule. asta dupa ce si 2004 a consemnat un regres de 15% fata de 2003, iar 2003 o scadere de 12% fata de 2002. 2002 a fost anul record al VAG in USA cu 424000 masini vandute.

totusi Audi a inregistrat in 2005 o crestere de 6% fata de 2004 pana la 83000buc, ajutat in special de introducerea A3 care s-a vandut in numai 6 luni pe piata in 5400 exemplare si de o crestere modesta a A4 de la 47000 la 49000buc si a A6 de la 15000 la 18000buc ( atat noul A4 cat si noul A6 au fost introduse la sfarsitul lui 2004 respectiv inceputul lui 2005).

Introducerea Jetta mk5 a reusit sa creasca volumul de vanzari cu 12% la 104000buc dar scaderea vanzarilor Golf4 ( de la 25000 pana la 16000buc) a contracarat cea mai mare parte din castigul Jetta.

Introducerea Passat mk.6 facuta in sept. nu a putut compensa scaderea vanzarilor de la inceputul anului per total vanzarile Passat 5&6 fiind in scadere de la 67600 la 49200buc.

e sigur insa ca noile modele introduse vor duce la sporirea vanzarilor. se va putea ajunge sau depasi nivelul record din 2002. e greu de spus. vom sti probabil pana in iunie.

2) VAG care in 1995 detinea peste 40% din piata chineza a fost depasit anul trecut de GM. vanzarile VAG in China au scazut de la 700.000 in 2003 la 647.000 de buc. in 2004 si la 571000 in 2005. cota de piata a VAG a fost in 2005 de numai 17.3%.

GM a reusit sa vanda 635000 masini noi in China in 2005. In sfarsit in China marcile japoneze au reusit sa isi atraga increderea cumparatorilor chinezi ( pana acum cativa ani masinile japoneze erau la fel de populare in China ca si cele germane in Israel din motive de antipatie istorica similare), Honda reusind o crestere cu 21% a vanzarilor pana la 260000buc, iar Toyota o crestere de 54% pana la 179000buc. Hyundai de asemenea a inregistrat o crestere galopanta de 60% pana la 233000buc.

reculul pe piata chineza este cu atat mai dureros pentru VAG cu cat aceasta piata este in rapida expansiune si cea in care marginea de profit mediu pe masina vanduta este semnificativ mai mare decat in Europa, Japonia sau America de Nord ( pietele mature ale lumii, unde vanzarile totale sunt stationare si unde exista un acerb razboi al preturilor care erodeaza profiturile). Din punct de vedere al strategiilor de piata pierderea acestei piete de catre VW este unul din marile esecuri strategice ale industriei automobilistice din toate timpurile, depasit poate numai de pierderea unei mari parti ale pietei nord-americane de catre cei 3 mari din Detroit in fata celor 3 mari japonezi. VAG plateste tribut unei cresteri iesite de sub control a preturilor de productie si a lipsei de inspiratie in introducerea de modele noi atractive ( ma refer la China). Bernhart a promis insa ca va opri declinul si chiar reversa... dar e deja destul de tarziu.

chinezii au cumparat anul trecut un numar record de vehicule noi: 5.92 milioane de bucati ( numai 3.3mil au fost masini de pasageri restul fiind camioane si alte masini comerciale blink.gif ). dupa ce in 2004 a depasit ca volum piata germana in 2005 au depasit-o si pe cea japoneza care a inregistrat 5.8mil de vehicule. cresterea pietei chineze in 2005 a fost de 8.4% fata de anul precedent.

motorizarea galopanta a Chinei este o garantie ca preturile mondiale ale petrolului, otelului si cauciucului vor continua sa creasca. blush.gif blink.gif

stiu ca imi voi atrage multe antipatii, dar, motorizarea galopanta a chinei te duce si cu gandul la nivelul de consum, overall, al acestei tari, care creste in acelasi ritm alert.
pe de o parte e bine - consuma mai mult, le cresc si veniturile - forta de munca devine mai scumpa smile.gif si scapam de porcariile alea pe care le produc aia.
pe de alta parte insa nu e bine deloc - poluare, resurse limitate etc.

Honda's hourly employees in Ohio are getting $4,923 US each for 2005, compared with $4,996 for 2004. The payments go to 10,000 people employed at its four major plants in the state.

Toyota's 5,600 hourly workers in Georgetown, Ky., are getting an average of $10,131 each for 2005, up from $8,860 for 2004, the company said. The plant builds the Camry, the best-selling car in the United States.

At Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd.'s plant in Lafayette, Indiana, about 1,600 workers who make Subaru vehicles received a holiday gift worth $1,000.

Ford paid its hourly workers bonuses of $600 for 2004, while GM paid $195. Neither will make payments for 2005. It is the first time in four years that GM and Ford union workers will not get the cheques.

Ford earned $2 billion last year, a decline of about 40 per cent from 2004. GM lost $8.6 billion in 2005.

DaimlerChrysler AG, which paid 70,000 Chrysler Group hourly workers an average of $1,500 for 2004, has not announced the bonus figure for 2005. The size of the payment will be announced after the company releases its 2005 fourth-quarter results next week, said Chrysler spokesman Jason Vines. With Chrysler's operating profits up through the first three quarters of 2005, the automaker is on track to pay similar profit-sharing cheques this year.

The wide disparity in bonuses is a sign of the sales situation in the United States, said Patrick Anderson of Anderson Economic Group, a consulting company in Lansing.

The bonuses at Toyota and Honda will add enough to their hourly pay of about $24 to about match wages at Detroit automakers, which are at a base of about $26 for an assembly worker, said Sean McAlinden, chief economist at the Center for Automotive Research in Ann Arbor.

si Honda are o masina operationala cu hidrogen (fuel cells) numita FCX = 80CP/360Nm. masina este deja in circulatie in California.

costurile sunt inca f. mari si nu se asteapta lansarea pe piata mai devreme de 2009-2010.

anul trecut s-au vandut 3.2mil de turisme ( locul 4 dupa USA, Japonia si Germania; locul dupa USA la vanzari totale de vehicule 5.9 milioane).

liderul de piata este GM cu 665000buc. urmat de VAG cu 571000buc ( in scadere in ultimii ani; in anii '90 VAG detinea aprox 40% din piata chineza in 2005 cota lor depiata a scazut la 17.3%).

urmeaza Honda cu 260.000, Hyundai 233000, Ford 220000, Toyota si Nissan cu 180000 fiecare, PSA 140000, Kia 110000.

PSA a anuntat recent construirea a unei noi uzine in China sperand in vanzari anuale de 450000 masini in 2010.

notabil ca Renault nu a reusit sa se impuna deloc in China si se pare ca, la fel ca si piata americana, piata chineza va fi abordata numai de partenerul japonez Nissan.

tot printre companiile care nu au reusit sa profite de noua piata chineza se numara si Fiat. blush.gif

in segmentul de lux marca cea mai populara este Audi cu 59000buc vandute in 2005 ( ca parte a VAG este prima marca de lux prezenta pe piata chineza), urmata de BMW cu 23000buc. si Mercedes cu 16500buc. Anul trecut a marcat si introducerea marcilor Lexus, Acura si Infiniti pe piata chineza. Buick, Cadillac si Lincoln sunt si ele prezente pe piata chineza, prima marca fiind si cea mai populara marca GM in China.
