It didn't take long for Japan's journalists to get the new STI and EVO X side by side, and the results are now officially in. Tsukuba circuit regulars Kazuo Shimizu and Manabu Kawaguchi spent an afternoon thrashing around the notoriously twisty short circuit just north of Tokyo and here (drum roll please) are the best times they could ring out of the AWD rivals:
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X : 1:06:46
Subaru Impreza WRX STI : 1:05:95
So there you have it. The new engine placed further forward in the engine bay of the EVO X than in the EVO IX has indeed proven to be a handicap, while the STI's "wheel at each corner" longer wheelbase plus new double wishbone rear suspension has proved its worth.
Neither car is quite as quick as its immediate ancestor though. Check out this 15 year rivalry of the EVO vs the STI as recorded at Tsukuba:

Tsukuba , e suficient sa spui numele si ai spus tot. E circuitul pe careAudi RS4 scoate 1.08.36 iar duo-ul japonez e cu 3 secunde in fata. Pe toate circuitele din lumea asta RS4 e la ani lumina in fata celor doua dar aici invers. Cred ca e suficient whistling.gif

ps. no hard feelings. doar ca vreau sa fie lucrurile tinute obiectiv si nu subiectiv.

Mai, ce va contrati atata? EVO si STI-urile sunt masini "pure si dure", facute pentru circuite virajate. Au cutii foarte scurte, care favorizeaza reprizele. M3 si RS4 sunt din alta categorie. Masini mai grele, cu motoare aspirate V8. Pe circuitele de viteza, acestea au un avantaj.
Deci, depinde de locul unde "se intampla". Pe un circuit de karting, parerea mea e ca nu au sanse in fata japonezelor. Pe unul cu linii lungi si drepte sau curbe largi... treaba se mai schimba.

departe de mine gandul de a te lua la misto. doar ca ce ai scris tu nu corespundea realitatii.
ca e evo mai rapid decat sti sau ca rs4 e mai bun decat celelalte doua e alta poveste. eu nu sint fan nici al uneia dintre aceste trei masini asa ca nu tin partea niciuneia.
